The Iron Army Signs 2020 Olympic Wrestling Hopeful Anthony Ashnault To the Team
Iron Army Founder and UFC Contender Frankie Edgar adds 2020 Olympia hopeful wrestler Anthony Ashnault to the team. The 2019 NCAA Wrestling Champion (149lbs) finished 32-0 while competing for Rutgers University this season. Ashnault holds a number of records at Rutgers including being the only four time All-American, only three time Big-Ten Champion and the all-time leader in wins in program history with 123. Edgar said, "I've been training with Anthony for the last couple of years. He's a Jersey guy who brings a tireless work ethic on the mats and in the gym. He trains with a champion's mindset so he was a natural fit for Iron Army."
Ashnault recently won a gold medal while competing for the United States as part of the men’s freestyle team at the 2019 Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. "I want to be a champion so when it comes to my supplementation and nutrition, I wanted to work with a champion like Frankie Edgar so Iron Army was my first choice and I'm excited to be a part of the team." said Ashnault.
Anthony is currently a resident athlete and head coach at the New Jersey Regional Training Center (NJRTC), while he trains for a birth in the 2020 Olympics.
